USDA Central States Print Butter 07/01 13:40
AMS_1089 MARS
Butter - Central U.S.
Released on July 01, 2026
Cream production is steady in the region, but contacts say high temperatures
this week are expected to have a negative impact on milk components in the
coming weeks. Contacts say demand for cream is lighter, as some plants in the
region have scheduled downtime at the end of the week. Some butter makers say
they are purchasing some spot loads of cream at lower multiples this week.
Butter makers are running busy schedules, before taking some time off for
Independence Day. Plant managers say they continue to build inventories ahead
of the baking season. Domestic demand for butter is steady and international
interest is strong, though some contacts say export demand is down from earlier
in the year. Spot purchasers say 80 percent butterfat butter is readily
available, while 82 percent inventories remain snug.
